The Zoo (BA Day 10)

We took the kids to the zoo, today. It ended up being fun for all of us. This is the best zoo we've ever been to. It's amazing how close you can get to all the animals! And, the architecture is great as much of it was built in 1888. They had many very interesting animals. I won't bore you with all the animals, just some of the ones we liked best (which is still quite a few :) ). Oh, and it was cheap! Only $10 for all of us.

We also met some people from Minnesota there that are going to school in theology here as prep to be missionaries in Argentina. They were really nice and fun to hang out with for a while. They also had 3 kids close to the ages of ours. Our kids clung to theirs and vice versa because they spoke English. They were with another couple, as well, that spoke fluent Spanish. They helped us with a name of epoxy to fix our stroller wheel.

We've met several sets of people from the states and it's funny how there's an immediate sense of commaraderie. Whereas, it would be much different if we'd met them in the states. It's like there's so much we all want to say that we haven't been able to fully communicate in our broken spanish. We've met so many nice people from all over.

We decided to carefully take the 3-wheeled limping stroller today so Kerrigan could sleep better. But didn't use the step up board.

Kerrigan was so happy to be back in the stroller. She slept so hard that her eyes were half open at times. Reminded me of you, Buff!

We saw this little guy in the beginning. He was not in a cage or anything, just roaming around. We thought maybe he escaped, but realized later that they were everywhere outside of cages!

spraying water on himself. Right after this, he peed and it was like a huge waterfall. We couldn't believe how much water he let out!

Many of the animal exhibits had some architecture of their native land. We liked this picture, too, because you can see the tall city buildings in the background reminding you you're in the middle of a huge city!

You can feed almost all the animals and there were a bunch of animals out and about. The kids loved these baby ducks or baby some kind of bird.

These little sewer rat / beaver looking things were free roaming everywhere, too, looking to be fed the food people buy to feed the animals. They could swim in water, too.

check out this video - an impromptu exhibit of the sociology of monkeys we were able to witness. Pretty hilarious and amazing. Every time we tried to give food to the female monkey and baby, the male monkey came to take it and the female monkey would always move away to let him take it, although, she really wanted it. This went on for about 5 tries until this.
