Palermo / Gardens (BA Day 13)

With our newly fixed stroller, we walked to and through the Japenese Gardens and the Rose Garden in Palermo.

There were so many carp in the water. Fish food is available and these fish are obviously used to getting it. Whenever a person is on the bridge, they swim quickly to them. It was crazy. Look at all the open mouths waiting for food.

Now, heading to the Rose Garden. This area reminds me of the arc de triumph with a big circle road around it.

the area around the rose garden where many people run. We ran around here later and loved it. Very beautiful.

Both the Japanese Gardens and the Rose Gardens are part of the Parque Tres de Febrero, also known as the Bosques de Palermo ("Palermo Woods"). The architects participated in the design of the park in the 19th century following an idea of President Sarmiento. The park was named in celebration of Tres de Febrero in 1852 when Sarmiento's rival General was defeated.

It's not quite as beautiful as it would be between Sept & February. The flowers are at the end of their season (being Fall here), but it is still a beautiful park.

We then explored Palermo Hollywood - the part of Palermo we hadn't seen yet. It was a bit industrial with some good dinner restaurants here and there. It is an up and coming neighborhood, with a lot of work still going on.

We couldn't find anywhere to have lunch or a snack (the kids were hungry), so we went back to Palermo SOHO for a snack at a cafe. Then went back to the apt. for lunch and naps.

This is what we read is one of the best parillas in BA. We wanted to go here for dinner, but didn't make it back. Look at the line for lunch at 2:30.

I loved the pictures of the Jardin! Reminds me of the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Jose. So beautiful!

Brooke, I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Good for you for getting out and enjoying the surroundings still.
We'll pray you get well soon!
