Argentine BBQ

Doug was so excited to grill on the authentic Argentine style BBQ in our backyard. He went to the carneceria (meat market) and the polloria (poultry market) to get some meat. He grilled up some great bife de chorizo (sirloin) (only $3.50 each!) and some chorizo (for himself) and some chicken brochettes with grilled veggies. He did a great job and by candlelight, too! We couldn't figure out how to turn a light on out there.

To use an argentine style BBQ, you have to put some newspaper under a pile of 'carbon' (burnt wood, kind of like charcoal) and light it. Like charcoals, you wait until they are all hot and spread them out under the grill rack. The rack moves up and down on a pulley type thing.

We also made up some chimichurri sauce, which is what they use here instead of steak sauce or anything. It is great with steak or chicken. It and a glass of Malbec was all very good!
