The Tazewell County 4-H Fair was July 18-21. We missed the first 3 days of the fair, because we had a 3-day practicum for our homeschool co-op at the same time. We did get to make it for the horse showing/competitions on the last day, though. It grew our love for horses!
Leading the horse to walk backwards between the fence and barrels in part of the course.
The kids watching the girls (funny how all the contestants were girls, now that I think of it) lead their horses through the course.
In the livestock area outside the arena. The kids loved walking around and seeing/petting all the horses & ponies
This horse and his 16 yr old owner won one of the competitions after we were petting him and talking to the parents. The parents gave us the 'lowdown' on what it takes to own a horse and where to get lessons, etc.
Petting a miniature horse after the miniature horse and cart competition. These nice girls stopped to let the kids pet the cute, little horse as they were leaving the arena.
Pretty horses!
