Daniel's brother lives in a gated community that is the only land access to the beach there. It's technically not a private beach -- there is no such thing in CA, but the only access to it is thru the water, if you don't live there or have not been invited by someone who lives there. Stephen always kindly call into the gate to grant access for us whenever we are there. It's a beautiful beach cove and is always much less crowded than other beaches in the area. 
It was still a bit overcast on the coast the first day we went, but still much fun & beauty was had by all
The rest of the days we went were no longer overcast and even more beautiful. This is the view from the top of the stairs down to the beach. I still stop in awe every time I see it.

Beth's kids taught our kids some ocean skills. Our kids were like pros by the end. So fun to watch them all boogie board and dive through waves.
