Good Friday

What a horrible day, but wonderful day!  This narration of the crucifixion says it all!  I hope you take the 20 minutes to listen to it.  Absolutely amazing what Christ has done for us.  I think many tend to emphasize the pain of the lashings and crucifixion, but forget the even more indescribably painful part of Christ's work -- the hours of separation from God, drinking the wrath of God poured out on Him that all mankind deserves and the filthiness He had upon Him in those hours.  Wow!  My stomach is in knots.  What amazing love and amazing grace!!

"Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned - every one - to his own way;
and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."
-- Isaiah 53:4-6
