Nutcracker

This is our second year going to the Nutcracker.  The Peoria Civic Center has a special showing for students and schools at a greatly reduced price - $5!  I have wanted to go to see the Nutcracker at Christmas time for so long, but every time I looked into it, the tickets were very expensive - even here!  So, we never went.  Last year our Classical Conversation homeschool group organized a Nutcracker field trip to this student show.  Very cool.  So, now we have gone two years in a row.

They changed the show a little bit this year (I think they only include some of the scenes to make the show a little shorter for kids).  And, they included some of the dancers from the 'big show'.  It was much better this year than last year.  We enjoyed it both times, but it was really good this year.  As homeschoolers, we get free parking and get to sit in the box seats.  Pretty neat.

Kerrigan and one of her good friends, Rebecca, shared a seat right in front :)

anxiously waiting for the show to start

the flash from my phone camera was a little much for Sutton's face,
but didn't want to leave them out :)

 The kids loved it :)

I loved the greenery and bows around the lampposts

the kids each got to pick out a small souvenir.  Hudson is holding his nutcracker ornament he picked, Kerrigan her ballerina ornament and Sutton her Nutcracker coloring book.

They all climbed on this and asked me to take their picture

And, of course, they always want to do their 'funny pose'
