Boat Trip to Isla Victoria & Parqe Nacional Los Arrayanes (Bariloche Day 8)

We took a boat tour today to see the lake from other views and because the kids would love being on the boat.

these birds followed the boat flying against the wind to get crackers from passengers

they eat the crackers or bread right out your hand. Sutton & Hudson got to experience it.

our first stop was Isla Victoria. There were a few little kittens that our kids and some others loved playing with.

These were said to be some ancient paintings on the rock walls.

We brought a picnic lunch and found this nice spot to eat

until the yellow jackets attacked again driving us to this dock

Back on the boat. Sutton made a friend and was sharing her stickers with her. It was neat to watch them really enjoy each other's company - like long time friends - even though they did not speak the same language.

Next stop, the myrtlewood (or Arrayan tree - Chilean Myrtle) forest. Myrtlewood supposedly only grows in Israel and Oregon. Maybe this is a third place or Chilean Myrtle is different.

It is said that the forest inspired Walt Disney for the scenography of his film Bambi.

Back at the port. The port is next to the Llao Llao, so I got another picture of it from the water. What an amazing location for a hotel or any building.

We stopped at the carneceria, avicola (mis-named polloria in a previous post due to Doug's mis-information from his last trip there :)

and the verduleria (produce market) to get stuff to grill for dinner. It was nice to have all 3 of these stores right next to each other. If time were no matter, we'd love to always shop this way at stores specifically for meat or poultry, etc.
