Oh brother. I just wrote out a LONG comment (maybe too long?) and it didn't publish. Ugh.
I agree with this guy, 100%
I think the church and Christians are in great danger, because for the most part we're less worried about God, His Gospel and showing Christ's love to others and we're more worried about the homes we live in, the cars we drive, the place we get our coffee and how we "appear" to others.
Taking more risks with the next vacation spot we go to and less with the great Mission at hand.
Our Pastor recently noted that Christians seem to be able to pop up and go on lavish trips at a moments notice - all to escape, get away and give themselves a break. You won't hear people saying "we have this money and time to go to Hawaii for 2 weeks, but we're going to pray over it for months and months, see if the Holy Spirit comes down in dove form and shoves us out the door - otherwise we're not going. More often than not, we make spur of the moment, even big decisions daily - but when it comes to anything concerning the Gospel; going on a summer missions trip or whatever, we become the most long, drawn out, patiently slow moving people. Acting like God has to appear in human form before we can commit. So true and SO sad.
