Sutton was very sad to find earlier today that one of the robin eggs was thrown from the nest and cracked on the patio below our deck. She made a cross to bury it and then as she went to bury the one unhatched bird, she noticed that the other two eggs had later also been thrown out of the nest. It really did sadden her. I went out later to see how she buried them and thought it was so cute.
Sutton said (because she explored the birds in the eggs) that they were almost ready to hatch. We looked up online why a bird would throw out her eggs. We were afraid that it might've been our fault by being out on the deck and scaring the mom. But, everything we read said that birds (as well as other animals) know or somehow sense when their young are or will be unhealthy, so they do this when they are.

the poor egg/baby bird
She had to change her original epitaph to include 'group of' and make robin plural.
So cute how she even put flowers on the grave :).
