Caramel

is what the kids named their newfound pet.  {I always love the names kids come up with for pets - so 'original' :)}  Caramel just showed up one day and really took to the kids and the kids to him.  He didn't appear to be wild, because he was so friendly and was so wanting to go inside the house (although we didn't let him).  The kids sacrificed parts of their breakfasts, lunches and dinners to feed him, until we were able to get some cat food.  He disappeared for a couple days and returned.  Now, sadly, he has disappeared again for over a week (right after we got the cat food!).  The kids miss him a lot and Doug and I actually do, too.  He probably belonged to somebody who was maybe away on vacation?  It was fun while it lasted.  Maybe now we will get them an outdoor cat (Doug's allergic).  We'll see.  We have the cat food :).
